Artist Talk with Joe McAlister
Thursday 13 September, 6:00PM - 7:30PM
An in-depth look at the tools and techniques used to create jo-jo, an interactive sculpture that explores the spread of misinformation online.
"jo-jo" is a computational child who learned to speak based on how we converse online. Talk to him and ask him anything. Be careful though, as he is very easily influenced, anything "jo-jo" doesn't understand he will research and learn about from any resources he can find online. In past performances, he has learned about everything from guns to communism. What will you teach him?
Learn about Joe's practice, his aims for the Near Now Fellowship, and the cutting-edge technology that can be used to make art with impact.
