Discover how it feels to meet a real and virtual performer as they dance, synch, glitch and compete with one another.
Book a performance slot between 10:00AM–4:00PM to experience REPLICA in Lakeside's Performing Arts Studio space.
This 10-minute dance piece utilises immersive technology to display a virtual dancer that interacts with a live performer. Experienced by one audience member at a time, who wears a VR headset, Replica asks you to consider issues such as digital doubles, ageing, and how we present our digital selves in a world of ever-growing digitisation.
The performance is part of ongoing research by the University of Nottingham’s Virtual and Immersive Production Studio into digitally augmented art and performance. Audiences will be asked to provide feedback on their experience afterwards by participating in a small focus group and/or completing a questionnaire.
