Sunday 6 Oct: performances between 11:00AM – 2:00PM (SOLD OUT)
Taking place across the road from Broadway's Gallery at The People’s Hall, a building with a rich history, audiences are invited to experience a performance journey that moves across virtual and physical space through a combination of 360˚ video, volumetric graphics, immersive audio and live dance performance. Dis_place highlights the memories and histories revealed in the beautiful, decaying heritage building's architecture, creating a unique, multi-sensory immersive experience.
Meet at Broadway Gallery to be directed to the performance. Please arrive promptly at your selected time slot. Dis_place is designed for one audience member at a time, performances will last approximately 20 minutes.
Virtual Reality experience (Saturday only)
Broadway Gallery, 11:00AM – 7:00PM
The live performance will be complemented by a VR volumetric film experience in Broadway's Gallery. Developed using creative software tool Depthkit, Kerryn and her collaborators have captured the dancers performing in parts of the People’s Hall building, creating an off-site VR experience that evokes the atmosphere of this unique place.
Drop in at any time to have a go.
Q&A + wine reception (Saturday only)
On Saturday 5 Oct from 6:00PM – 7:00PM, Kerryn Wise and Creative Technologist Ben Neal will be in the Gallery to talk about their work and answer questions about the development of the dis_place project.
Join us for an informative chat and a glass of wine.
