Part of Sonic Sculptures, a series of events situated around a structure turning Broadway Gallery into an instrument.
Learn generative approaches to making electronic music that embrace an embodied approach, in this workshop hosted by artist and musician Tom Harris.
Expect to explore composition techniques, sound design and composing using multitrack tape machines, ‘foley' sound, loop pedals, synthesis and sampling. In the workshop we will aim to bring all of these techniques together to create a group live performance.
Feel free to bring any music equipment that you are currently exploring compositions with, or you are welcome to use equipment provided. Also you are encouraged to bring a small object from home that sounds ‘unique’ that we can explore during the workshops.
This is a free event, but please book a ticket to reserve your place.

About the artist
Tom Harris is an artist whose music is situated within the UK’s melting pot, influenced by garage and grime music, hiphop, electronica and Jazz. Thomas’s wholehearted embracing of fusion lends itself well towards working as an interdisciplinary artist, having had success scoring music for runways, creating soundscapes for exhibitions and collaborating with Movement artists.
Sonic Sculptures is a project led by visual artist/curator Ryan Boultbee, architectural designer/artist Will Harvey, and musician Tom Harris.
It is a common meeting ground of sound and material, lifting the ordinary into the extraordinary.
