Experience CAPACITIVE, an interactive light installation by Nottingham-based artist and creative technologist Mark Robertson (DEPTHM). Created for Nottingham Light Night 2026.

Visible directly through the window on Heathcoat Street, DEPTHM transforms Broadway Gallery into a shifting atmosphere of colour and light. Using LED panels, cinematic colour gels, fog effects and touch sensors to create a connection between the liminal space of the empty gallery and the audience through interactive technologies.

Light Night audiences and passers-by are encouraged to take part. By touching panels on the Gallery's windows, you can trigger changes in light, colour, and mood—experimenting, playing, and shaping the installation in real time. Every interaction subtly alters the space inside, making each moment unique.

Light Night Lates

This installation forms part of Light Night Lates at Broadway, a two-night programme celebrating light and sound across the building.

In collaboration with local artists and creatives, discover live DJs and visuals, interactive artworks and installations, and immersive virtual reality experiences across our bars, gallery and public spaces.
